Drake’s cryptic new track “Supermax” has sparked fan theories, lyrical deep dives, and now — what looks like a low-key confirmation from the woman at the center of it all.
Sports journalist and host Taylor Rooks just might be the “Taylor” Drizzy name-drops on the unreleased cut, which premiered during the first episode of his Iceman livestream series on Friday (July 4). In the track, Drake recalls a conversation with someone named Taylor who drops a gem of advice during a night out:
“I was talking to Taylor over drinks, and it was getting deep / ‘Not everyone can handle this pressure and, in the city, you’re the national treasure,’ that’s what she said to me.”
Shortly after the livestream aired, Rooks took to social media with what fans are calling a not-so-subtle wink: she posted a screenshot of the stream with the caption, “That’s what she said to me.”
Naturally, the internet ran with it.
While Rooks hasn’t fully confirmed the interaction, her quote-heavy post suggests the moment might be more than just rap fiction. And with “Supermax” quickly becoming one of the standout records teased during Drake’s *Iceman* event, it’s safe to say the speculation won’t die down anytime soon.
The livestream wasn’t all teases, either. That same night, Drake officially dropped “What Did I Miss?”, a moody, melodic cut that immediately stormed the top of major streaming charts. According to Chart Data, the track went No. 1 across platforms within hours, continuing Drake’s reign as the undisputed king of streams.
With his forthcoming *ICEMAN* album already heating up conversations, and rumors swirling about each unreleased track, the Taylor Rooks connection just adds more fuel to the fire. Whether she’s simply a muse, a moment, or something more — one thing’s evident: when Drake drops a bar, the world listens.
