Sounwave has quickly become one of the most well-known producers in hip-hop. And that is largely due to his work with Kendrick Lamar.
Dot and Sounwave have collaborated on top hits such as “Not Like Us,” “LOVE,” “Alright,” and “B***h, Don’t Kill My Vibe”.
Jack Antonoff Credits SounWave For Lamar, Swift Connection
But that relationship has been just as beneficial for Lamar. Sounwave was the person who connected K.Dot with Jack Antonoff. Who is a known collaborator with global pop star Taylor Swift.
During an appearance on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Antonoff explained how Sounwave was able to connect the dots between him and Kendrick.
“I have a band with a guy named Sounwave and a guy named Sam Dew. Wave grew up with Kendrick and has produced all his albums, and they were upstairs at Electric Lady one day, and I was downstairs working on something, and Wave texted me,” Antonoff recalled. “He’s like, ‘Come upstairs and mess around.’ I go upstairs and start playing some chords. Didn’t leave for three years.”

Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift ultimately collaborated on the remix of “Bad Blood” in May 2015. The track, which appears on her album 1989, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lamar dropped his last album GNX in November 2024, which took home the Grammy Award for Best Rap album in 2026. Do you think we’ll be getting another drop from dot later this year?
