Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s 2024 rap feud put the music industry at a standstill. To the point that nothing else in the industry seemed to matter during their exchange last summer. But still, some people became casualties of war during their viral dispute. One of those people was rising R&B artist SiR.

SiR Says Drake Had 2024 Concert Cancelled
SiR is signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). It’s the same label that Kendrick Lamar is on. During a recent performance in Toronto, Canada, SiR revealed that he “kind of got caught in the middle” of Kendrick and Drake’s rap feud. When he was slated to perform in Drake’s hometown of Toronto last summer. The venue mysteriously canceled his performance due to “complications.”
“So the venue in Toronto, which was partially owned by Drake, canceled the show completely. Then when we tried to switch venues, the next venue was like ‘nah we ain’t f*cking with it. I ain’t taking no motherf*cking chance’,” SiR said in a clip shared by DJ Akademiks.
This isn’t the first time that Drake has been guilty of attempting to sensor one of Kendrick’s music industry cohorts.
Pusha T and Malice (Clipse) have an album titled, “Let God Sort ‘Em Out” that will be released on July 11. Last year they revealed their plans to drop a project for the first time in fifteen years under the Def Jam Label.
However, when the official announcement came in May, the distribution was credited to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
Pusha recently revealed the reason for the switch-up was that the label wanted to nix Kendrick Lamar’s verse on one of the tracks titled “Whips & Chains.”
The rap star also noted that he received similar pushback after “Story of Adidon” dropped.
“If [Drake’s] adamant to have a lawsuit it’s only because he knows all the things that they did to suppress everything that was happening around ‘Adidon’ and the verses and the records and things that were happening back then,” he said.
