Tee Grizzley is continuing to grow his business portfolio beyond music, this time stepping into the world of real estate development.
According to a new report, the Detroit rapper is backing a proposed $12 million development project in the city’s rapidly growing Brush Park district.
The plans call for a five-story mixed-use building that would feature residential apartments along with commercial space. The development is expected to be built on currently vacant land in the neighborhood, which sits just outside downtown Detroit and has experienced significant redevelopment in recent years.
Grizzley, best known for his breakout hit First Day Out, is reportedly involved as a financial backer on the project. A Detroit-based development team would handle the day-to-day construction and management responsibilities.
If the project receives final approval, the new building would add to the growing number of residential developments transforming the Brush Park area, while marking another major step in Grizzley’s efforts to expand his business ventures beyond the music industry.
