Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley is celebrating a major fresh start after a Michigan judge officially expunged his felony convictions.
The convictions were connected to robberies committed while Tee Grizzley was a student at Michigan State University in 2014. The rapper said his record had cost him performance opportunities, business deals and access to certain insurance policies.
Following the hearing, Tee spoke to teenagers graduating from Ingham County’s juvenile weapons court program and encouraged them to take advantage of their second chances.
“Every felony GONE!!!! Thank you God,” he wrote on Instagram. “One decision doesn’t have to define your entire story. Your comeback can be greater than your setback.”
