According to the New York Daily News Tekashi69’s former manager pleaded guilty Thursday for his role in a summer of rowdy gangbanging that destroyed the brash Brooklyn rapper’s career.
Kifano (Shotti) Jordan had a falling out with Tekashi shortly before the pair, along with nine other alleged members of the 9 Trey Bloods, were arrested by the FBI for a wild string of robberies, shootings and other mayhem around the city.
A spokesman for the Southern District of New York confirmed Jordan, 36, had pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. There was no indication Jordan was cooperating with authorities. He faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison.
Tekashi — real name Daniel Hernandez — flipped on his fellow gang members and is cooperating with the feds. The “GUMMO” rapper is being held in an undisclosed federal lockup for his own safety.
As part of his plea, Jordan copped to robbing rivals at gunpoint in the lobby of a building at W. 40th St. and Eighth Ave. on April 3. Tekashi was allegedly sitting in an SUV filming the robbery. Prosecutors say two other 9 Trey members were also involved in the stickup.
Jordan also admitted to a shooting on April 21. The incident, which was not detailed in court papers, was separate from a shooting in the Barclays Center that same day during a boxing match that prosecutors say was tied to Tekashi’s beef with the rapper Casanova.
“This conduct is simply intolerable,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said.
Jordan was separately charged in state court with assault, attempted assault, and weapon possession for an Oct. 26, 2017, shooting inside Philippe’s, a tony Upper East Side restaurant on Madison Ave. and E. 59th St. That case is ongoing.
When Tekashi was arrested in November his attorney revealed the rapper had recently split from Jordan and other members of his entourage. The falling out led the FBI to offer protection to the rapper because his former friends had threatened to kill him. Tekashi refused and the FBI busted the whole crew.
