If anyone is qualified to offer their expertise in snitching, it would be rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine. During a recent appearance on the No Jumper podcast, the Gummo artist had an interesting perspective on people who label Drake a snitch.
Tekashi Explains Why Drake Can’t Be Labeled a Snitch
During his appearance on the podcast, he and YouTuber Trap Lore Ross composed a “snitch tier” list, ranking the biggest snitches in the music industry. 6ix9ine was reluctant to put the Grammy winner in a high tier. Because in Tekashi’s opinion, it is not accurate to label Drake a snitch. Due to his upbringing.
“Drake is Jewish at the end of the day. He was on Degrassi. So I don’t consider him a street n***a, you know what I mean?” the rap star said. “Even though he raps about all of that s**t. There is [such a thing as Jewish gangsters], but he’s not one of them. *laughs* He’s an actor. But snitching is snitching. But at the end of the day… Now there are rules, regulations, and levels, I guess. Nah, put him on dead bottom. Just in case we might need the stimulus package, I’ll put him on at the bottom.”
Drake began to be labeled a snitch in the fallout of his beef with Kendrick Lamar. Now let’s be clear— Drake did not expressly go to the authorities with information about Kendrick. But he did file a lawsuit over Lamar’s 2024 hit record, Not Like Us.
Drake hit Universal Music Group with a defamation lawsuit. Alleging that their promotion of the song was an act of spreading misinformation. Specifically, the lyric where Kendrick refers to Drake as a “certified pedophile.”
However, despite his persistence in his defamation lawsuit, the judge ultimately ruled that Drake was not defamed in Kendrick’s song and motioned to dismiss the lawsuit. Drake and his legal team plan to appeal in the future.
