Everything that rap star Tekashi 6ix9ine does apparently has to be an event. Including turning himself in to the authorities.
On Tuesday, the Gummo rapper turned himself in to the police so that he could begin serving out his three-month prison sentence. But the entire process was unorthodox to say the least. Especially because he turned himself in during a livestream with Twitch streamer Adin Ross.
6ix9ine Turns Himself in to Begin Serving Prison Sentence
6ix9ine appears in the video, without his customary rainbow colored hair. Sporting a plain, jet black hairstyle. You can briefly see him get out of a vehicle before walking into the facility where he will be processed.

The rap star had been granted probation for turning state’s evidence in the 2019 Treyway RICO trial. However, the judge deemed 6ix9ine a “dumpster fire” who should not be exempt from consequences. Despite previously helping the government.
The cited violations included the rap star being arrested for drug possession in February 2025, after authorities found cocaine and MDMA inside his Palm Beach residence. The outlet also notes that he had previously been jailed for “unauthorized travel” and for using methamphetamines.
In addition, court documents showed that the rapper physically attacked a man who antagonized him for cooperating with the feds. Court documents showed that the man tried to flee, but Tekashi and another associate hunted down the antagonist and physically attacked him, but fled once they realized the man was armed.
Tekashi will serve his three-month bid at the Brooklyn Detention Center. And he will join a long list of high-profile inmates that have been housed at the facility. Diddy, Al Sharpton, Luigi Mangione, and most recently, Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro, who was recently apprehended by the United States government.
The rap star is currently scheduled to be released from the institution in or around April 2026.
