Despite being from the same hometown as Kendrick Lamar, rap artist The Game is disappointed about the lingering impacts of his beef with Drake.
Game Gets Honest About Drake’s Absence From Hip-Hop
During a recent sit-down with Complex, the rapper said that the aftermath of the 2024 feud between Drake and Lamar put hip-hop in a bad way.
“You gotta think .. ever since Drake [has] been quiet, or chillin, or not Drake’n as usual, the world all f****d up bro,” he said (via Kurrco/X). “You walk into clubs, and everybody is on their phone; nobody looks like they’re having a good time anymore. We don’t even know — if you walked into the club, what song would make you happy about being there right now?”
Up-and-coming rapper Yeat also caught a stray during his rant.
“Yeat gonna come on and turn ya’ll up? He’s gonna turn ya’ll section up? And I’m no s*******g on yeat. I’m saying this is why Drake needs to go up. What are we doing, bro?” he continued. “The s**t is sad without Drake in the club. It’s sad, bro. But we got Drake out here, feeling like we didn’t appreciate him. So now he tucked away, working on Iceman, chilling, feeling like ‘they don’t appreciate me.’ He should never feel like that. “

However, fans in the comments section did not agree with the Compton rapper.
“This dude is always mentioning whoever is trending at the moment just to make himself look relevant,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“When people name West Coast legends, they always skip Game because he insists on being corny and got weird ass cases himself,” a second user chimed in.
“Imagine thinking that one person controls a culture or the environment of a club, naaaaaah, he’s not connected to reality at all,” a third user said.
