Earlier this year, rap artist Toosii revealed his intentions to put a pause on his music career to pursue his dream of playing college football. It appeared that the dream had become a reality when the artist revealed that he was accepted into Syracuse University and intended to play for their football team the following season.
Toosii Blast ‘Bozo’ Syracuse Coach Fran Brown
However, when Syracuse head football coach Fran Brown spoke to reporters in January, he cast doubt on Toosii playing for the University. But in a recent social media video, the artist accused the football coach of trying to paint a certain narrative. He claims that he told Coach Brown that he wasn’t coming to Syracuse.
“I told you I wasn’t coming there anymore, and you feel like you wanted to break the news first before I told people what school I was going to. (Brown) is a bozo for that,” he said in a recent social media post.
Rapper Toosii went off on Fran Brown, calling him a 'bozo' after Brown's public comments about Toosii being a walk-on 😳

Coach Brown recently revealed to reporters that Toosii was never on scholarship. And that the two of them had discussed him trying to make the team as a walk-on player. But even as a walk-on, Brown was unsure if there would be a space for Toosii. Especially because they were expecting more commits following the conclusion of the high school football season. However, the artist says that the conversation that he remembers having with Coach Brown went a lot differently.
“That was never the conversation,” Toosii added. “The conversation was, ‘Y’all paying for my school.’ That’s what it was. If you lie, I’ve got receipts.”
The Syracuse Orange football team finished the 2025 season with a 3-9 overall record and a 1-7 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Coach Brown and the Orangemen will be looking to make a major turnaround in 2026.
