Toosii ’s next play might not be on the Billboard charts—it could be on the football field.
On Sunday (Sept. 14), the “Favorite Song” rapper revealed that he’s been offered a spot with Sacramento State’s football program. Head coach Brennan Marion reportedly hit him with a scholarship offer via FaceTime on Friday, according to ON3 Rivals. If he accepts, Toosii would line up as a wide receiver for the Hornets in their 2026 recruiting class.
“Man the Lord is powerful,” Toosii wrote in a post, sounding both hyped and humbled. “Blessed to receive an offer from Sacramento State. Thank you and big shout to Head Coach Brennan Marion and Coach C.J. Pollard. This don’t even feel real man. I’m speechless right now. I don’t even know what to say.”
The move isn’t coming out of nowhere. Just last month, Toosii told his followers he planned to become “the first multi-platinum recording artist to go back to school and play Division I football,” while sharing clips of himself training at NC State. He even warned, “Next year I’m gonna be on somebody’s team, mark my words!”
Turns out, he wasn’t bluffing. He’s already been spotted putting in work with Sacramento State players. But for now, he’s keeping things open—an official decision isn’t expected until December.
Football isn’t new to Toosii, either. Before his rap career took off, he balled out at Rolesville High in Raleigh, North Carolina. Music may have taken him from the locker room to the stage, but the itch to get back on the field clearly never went away.
So what happens now? Does Toosii really step away from music to chase college football under the Saturday lights, or does he figure out a way to do both? Either way, he’s rewriting the playbook.
