Tory Lanez has filed a $100 million federal lawsuit against California’s prison system, claiming officials put his life at risk before he was brutally stabbed 16 times in 2025.
According to the suit, Lanez says he was placed in a cell with a known violent offender who attacked him with a homemade weapon, leaving him with a collapsed lung and serious injuries to his head, face, and torso. He alleges the assault was “unprovoked” and that correctional officers were slow to respond, failing to use emergency measures to stop the attack.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, a case that dominated headlines and divided fans across the culture. His appeal was denied last year.
Beyond the stabbing, Lanez also claims prison officials seized unreleased songbooks—material he says holds major future value—and refused to return them.
Lanez has since been transferred to another facility, but this lawsuit signals he’s far from done fighting.
The California Department of Corrections has declined to comment due to ongoing litigation.
