Tory Lanez has suffered a legal setback in his bid to challenge parts of his conviction and sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
On Tuesday (Aug. 12), the California Court of Appeals denied two key habeas petitions, according to Legal Affairs & Trials reporter Meghann Cuniff. One petition centered on claims that Lanez’s driver did not testify, while the other was based on a new statement from a security guard for Kelsey Nicole Harris during the trial.
Although these particular arguments will not advance, Lanez’s primary appeal remains intact and is set for oral arguments next Monday (Aug. 18) in Los Angeles.
