Tory Lanez Submits Another Appeal in Shooting Trial
According to a December 22 report from TMZ, the latest appeal from Lanez is one that targets former Los Angeles district attorney George Gascon. The rap star and his legal team claim that Megan’s medical report, which was used in the trial, contained more than 60 errors.
Lanez’s legal team employed a software expert. To review the medical records, and they reported a bevy of errors in their findings.
Additionally, TMZ reports that there was also “a missing document titled ‘EVIDENCE.” And they believe that a hospital security guard named Derek Cervantes transferred “foreign bodies” such as bullet fragments to the hospital. Where she was treated for her bullet wounds.
The report also notes that there were several “irregularities” found in the medical records. Such as “overwritten text, QR codes that don’t work, bogus signatures, inconsistent document formatting. And missing and repeated pages with date and time contradictions.”
To bring things up to speed, Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence. For shooting rap star Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an altercation at a party in 2020. In a new interview with NBC News, Lanez said that he harbors no hatred for Megan. Despite all that they’ve been through.
“We’ve both gone through a lot. There’s this connotation that I share this hatred for her. But I don’t,” Lanez said. “I’m genuinely past that. At a place of healing in my life. I’m at a place of taking accountability for the things that I did wrong. When I talk about my case, I don’t want it to be taken as me coming at her. Because it’s not that. I’m just asking for somebody in the system to look at my case. And look at the evidence and ask if this was fair.”
