Tory Lanez has been hit with a $20,000 fine after reportedly storming out of a deposition tied to Megan Thee Stallion’s defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz. According to a Rolling Stone report on Monday (Nov. 17), Lanez sat for the deposition on Nov. 14 but abruptly walked out while hurling expletives at Megan’s attorney and refusing to answer key questions.
The deposition was intended to explore Lanez’s connection to Milagro Gramz, born Milagro Cooper, whom Megan sued in 2024 for spreading false accusations—including claims that the rapper committed perjury, promoted a fake pornographic video, and coordinated online harassment. The lawsuit alleges that Gramz worked closely with Lanez and his father, Sonstar Peterson, in orchestrating targeted harassment and spreading damaging rumors.
During the deposition, Lanez allegedly refused to explain how he met Gramz. Before questioning even started, he reportedly asked what would happen if he declined to participate. When informed he could be fined or held in contempt, Lanez scoffed, allegedly saying, “Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them. I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”
His defiance had consequences. U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid fined him $20,000 on Sunday (Nov. 16) for obstructing the legal process after multiple failed deposition attempts dating back to April. Lanez’s attorney, Crystal Morgan, was also found in contempt and fined $5,000 for failing to properly advise her client during the proceedings.
Lanez, currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, has repeatedly refused to answer questions related to the defamation case, derailing at least three prior attempts to depose him.
The defamation suit remains ongoing. Milagro Gramz denies all allegations. Meanwhile, Lanez recently lost his appeal to overturn his shooting conviction and continues to remain under a five-year restraining order prohibiting any contact with Megan.
