Tory Lanez isn’t going to let a jail cell stop him from dropping hits. In a new teaser, he teases a new track and a new genre.
Tory Lanez Debuts New Genre
The name of the genre is … interesting. It’s called “slutty bass.” The rap star introduced it on a new track that he previewed in a social media post on Tuesday (January 27).
“New Genre … #SluttyBass2026,” he said in the social media post.
The new sound is interesting. It has an upbeat yet smooth tempo. Combining the bass of house music with the soulfulness of classic R&B, it also features some erotic lyrics.
“Tell me what you wanna do. I wanna make it good for you, baby. Is this what you wanna do? … No one likes your boyfriend. He’s so annoying,” Tory raps in part of the teaser.

The music business is an industry of trends. In the past, we have seen trends like 808s, trap music, drill music, and the lemonade flow become prominent among top artists. Slutty Bass could be the next big thing to catch on.
Fans in the comments section of the social media post seemed to be digging the new genre.
“smh a musical genius behind bars rn btw,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“No matter how much they try to limit him, Tory keeps showing depth, growth, and undeniable talent. Never ceases to amaze me. Soooo fire!!!!!” a second user added.
“How does he keep blowing my mind, this much quality in prison, damn Tory,” a third user chimed in.
Of course, other fans flooded the comments section with #FreeTory tweets. If you don’t know, Lanez is currently behind bars. He was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in August 2023 for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He will be eligible for parole in September 2029.
