In Clipse’s latest single So Be It off their upcoming project, Let Got Sort ‘Em Out, Pusha T aims at rap star Travis Scott. In the song, King Push threatens to release a video of Scott crying following his breakup with his ex-girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
“You cried in front of me, you died in front of me. Calabasas took your b*tch and your pride in front of me. I got the video I can share and AE it. I can’t unsee it, lucky I ain’t TMZ it,” he raps on the track.
Travis Scott Appears to Respond to Pusha T on ‘2000 Excursion’
Travis is more of a pop artist than a rapper. So many wondered if he would even offer a response. However, In La Flame’s latest single titled, Excursion, he hit back at the Daytona creator.
“She moved up the street? She was begging to stay. You got clips (Clipse) of the moment? I got clips of the pay. You post threats like a vet, but you move like a stray. You rap like is ’05, I live in today,” Scott raps in the song.
According to Pusha T, the catalyst of his issues with Scott dates back to 2023, when Clipse first began recording their new album. Travis was excited about his new album “Utopia” and wanted the Clipse’s producer, Pharrell, to hear it. Travis met Pharrell at his studio at the LV headquarters in Paris to play him the album. But in doing so, he interrupted a Clipse recording session. Travis played the album for Pharrell including his controversial song “Meltdown” — except he didn’t play the version with the now infamous Drake verse that takes aim at Pharrell.
“He sees me and Malice] there. He’s like, ‘Oh, man, everybody’s here,’ he’s smiling, laughing, jumping around, doing his f******g monkey dance,” Push said.
“We weren’t into the music, but he wanted to play it, wanted to film [us and Pharrell listening to it]. And then a week later you hear ‘Meltdown,’ which he didn’t play. He played the song, but not [Drake’s verse].”
