The casting is getting rolled out for Snoop Dogg’s biopic. Now, one key member to Death Row’s rise and fall has found a depiction.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Tre Hale portrays Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight in the film.
Hale’s credits include Platonic, Nemesis, The Real Bros of Simi Valley: The Movie, Love & Monsters, and All American.
Other casting choices include Lauren London as Snoop Dogg’s late mother Beverly Tate, Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, Algee Smith as Warren G, Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg, and more. Snoop is played by Jonathan Daviss of Outer Banks.
What Else We Know About The Snoop Biopic
The film comes from Universal Pictures, who’s coming off the billion dollar Michael.
They’ve tagged Director Craig Brewer, known for his music-centric stories including Song Sung Blue, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, Hustle & Flow, and the Footloose remake. Snoop Dogg will serve as an executive producer, teasing at Cinemacon that the film will for sure nab an R rating. He then encouraged kids to get their parents’ permission.
“After my brothers got to tell their story with Straight Outta Compton, now it’s my turn,” Snoop said.
