Trey Songz is back in the headlines for another alleged altercation — this time, police are investigating claims he assaulted a cameraman at a recent event in New York.
According to videographer Isaa Mansoor, the incident went down on Sunday (July 13) at The Ivy in Huntington, N.Y., where he was hired to film an event featuring the R&B singer. Mansoor says he was given the green light by the venue owner to film Trey throughout the night. But as things wrapped up, tensions reportedly escalated.
Mansoor claims Trey snapped when he was asked to get a final shot of the singer in front of the venue’s logo. That’s when, according to Mansoor, Trey allegedly punched him in the side of the head, slammed him against a wall, and broke two of his cameras. Even after the owner identified Mansoor as the official videographer, Trey allegedly wasn’t trying to hear it — cursing him out and raising his fist again before leaving the scene.
Mansoor says he fled and later went to the hospital, where he was treated for a concussion, a migraine, and ankle pain. Police are now investigating the reported assault.
This isn’t the first time Trey Songz has been caught up in drama recently. Just a few weeks earlier (June 24), video surfaced of Songz in a heated face-off with an unidentified man. In the clip, the man refuses Trey’s handshake, saying, “I ain’t gonna shake your hand.” Trey fires back with, “And you ain’t gone do s–t either like I told you.”
The argument escalates until Trey tells the man, “I’ll beat the s–t out of you right now.” Security intervenes before anything pops off, but it added to a growing list of public incidents involving the singer.
All this comes after Trey recently dropped a track where he claimed he was wiping his slate clean. Between these latest allegations and the video footage, fans are questioning if that reset is already off track.
