There is more drama surrounding the Cash Money record label. And this time it involves Turk, one of the original members of the Hot Boyz.
Turk Hits Back After Being Booted From Hot Boyz Tour
For those who may be unaware, Turk was recently expelled from the Hot Boyz reunion tour. Citing him being a “security risk” as the reason for his removal. Turk and his legal team are now fighting back. In a post to his social media account on July 27, he revealed that he has filed a cease and desist regarding his dismissal. He has said the remarks made about him in the aftermath were slanderous and defamatory,
“My legal team has officially filed a Cease & Desist against Andrew Ellington, Dope Shows, and all parties involved in the recent false narratives and drama surrounding Hot Boy Turk,” the statement posted to his Instagram account reads.
“We will not tolerate slander, defamation, or any attempts to damage my brand, name, or business relationships. This is being handled the right way — through legal channels.”
Turk Refused to Take Pay Cut Right Before Getting Booted
The day prior, Turk and his wife/manager Erica “Emani” Virgil posted a video to his Instagram account. In that social media post, Turk and his wife note that the “security risk” accusations stem from Turk not wanting to take a pay cut.
“The same day, after I refused to take less money than what the agency and promoters of the Cash Money 30th Anniversary Tour owed me, instead of saying they didn’t have enough money to pay me, I received a last-minute termination notice saying I was a ‘security risk,'” he said in the video.
Turk says tour promoters tried to lowball him with a “very minor” payment — and labeled him a “security risk” due to past tension with B.G. 😤🧨 His wife/manager says they refused to stay silent about the disrespect. The Hot Boyz reunion tour has been filled with drama. In March, famed group member Birdman appeared to fall asleep in the middle of their set. Some speculated that Birdman wasn’t sleeping and that he could perhaps have been under the influence of drugs. Birdman remained frozen until Turk nudged him with his elbow, urging him to wake up.
Following the viral video, Turk weighed in on the situation, noting that it was something that had been blown out of proportion.
“I don’t know what’s going on, man,” Turk said during a recent interview on B High ATL. “I’m on that mu*******a having Turk fun. I’m in Turk’s world doing what I’m doing. They’re gonna always turn something into something that ain’t, you know what I’m saying? We have different little moments where we have to look down and see what’s going on.”
Turk also noted that oftentimes on stage, Birdman is not even aware of what he is doing. So to the untrained eye, his actions can be perceived as something different. Turk also added that even despite the backlash and concern, Birdman is the type of person who will go and do the same thing again.
