Tyrese is making it clear he’s not interested in stepping into the Verzuz ring with Tank—and he’s explaining exactly why.

During a recent conversation, the singer said he doesn’t believe a Verzuz matchup between him and Tank would make sense, arguing that their voices and styles aren’t truly comparable. Instead, Tyrese suggested he’d be a better fit going up against Sisqó, while placing Tank in a lane with artists like Eric Benét.
Tyrese didn’t stop there, adding a bold statement about their business differences as well. “I might lose, but what I make in 10 shows takes Tank 30 shows to get to,” he said, emphasizing his confidence in his earning power and market value.
While Verzuz has created some unforgettable R&B showdowns, it looks like Tyrese has a different vision for how those matchups should be structured—prioritizing vocal compatibility and overall positioning over fan-driven pairings.
