JAY-Z has spent most of 2026 taking a victory lap as he gears up for his New York return concert series at Yankee Stadium. However, he’s received a threat that could change how he feels about visiting Africa.
Who Threatened JAY-Z?
In a series of tweets, outspoken Ugandan Minister Of Defense General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, sent JAY-Z an ultimatum regarding his wife Beyonce.
Kainerugaba has demanded HOV deliver his wife to the general, and allow him to marry her. He says that if JAY fails to meet his demands, they will fight and the winner gets Beyonce.
Now, obviously, the ownership complex and blatant misogyny is pretty messed up. But in a logical sense, obviously, JAY is not giving his wife to some militant. Nor would Beyonce ever agree to that. However, Kainerugaba says he’s willing to petition the United Nations to make this happen, which confirms he’s not joking.
The militant also says he’s much richer than billionaire JAY because he owns thousands of Ankole cattle.
Neither JAY nor Beyonce have responded to his threats.

What Else Is Going On With HOV?
JAY is set to sit down with Rick Rubin and discuss his career in an eight-part docuseries for HBO. The series is expected to debut this fall.
There is also an accompanying teaser for the upcoming documentary series. Hov gives potential viewers a taste of what they can expect from the upcoming series.
“Everyone had the same experience. Except I was the one to stand on the soapbox and articulate what we were going through,” JAY-Z tells Rick Rubin in the clip. “So the pain, we don’t say it’s necessary. We don’t say you need it, but if it’s there, you use it.”
