Beyoncé and Jay-Z just turned awards season into a family flex — both landing Emmy nominations in the same heavyweight category for 2025.

Bey’s Beyoncé Bowl halftime show, streamed on Netflix during the NFL’s Christmas Day game, scored her another Emmy nod. Meanwhile, Hov grabbed a nomination as executive producer of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on Apple Music — the same show that smashed records as the most-watched halftime performance ever, pulling in 133.5 million viewers.

That puts the Carters directly in competition, sharing the ballot with The Oscars, SNL50: The Anniversary Special, and SNL50: The Homecoming Concert. No big deal. Jay’s been here before too — he already won this category in 2022 for producing Dre’s unforgettable Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show with Snoop, Mary J., Eminem, Kendrick, and 50 Cent.

Both Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been stacking up history-making moments like this. During her Christmas performance, Bey wasn’t moving solo. She brought out Post Malone and Shaboozey, running through “Sweet Honey Buckiin,” “Levii’s Jeans,” “Blackbiird,” and “16 Carriages.” She closed the show with “Texas Hold ‘Em,” flanked by her 13-year-old daughter Blue Ivy — generational energy on full display.

Kendrick’s halftime set was its own cultural touchdown. SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard popped up, while K-Dot ran through “Squabble Up,” “Not Like Us,” and more. It wasn’t just a performance; it was a moment.

And of course, the Carters never miss an opportunity to make it a movie. During Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour stop in Atlanta, Jay pulled up mid-show for a surprise “Crazy in Love” performance — plus a crowd-silencing kiss that had social feeds spinning.

With one show left in the city, fans are already speculating: will Beyoncé have one last ace up her sleeve? And come September, who takes the Emmy home — Queen Bey or Hov? Either way, it’s a win for the culture.
