Judging Criteria
Lyrical Skill – Rhyming skills BAR for BAR, metaphors, punchlines, flow, lyrical content, storytelling ability, etc.
Musical Catalog – Classic albums/mixtapes, classic songs, range of musical capabilities, song quality, and album/mixtape quality.
Longevity – How long the artist sustained quality material at a high level.
Impact – the measurement of how strong of an effect an artist and/or group has on something or someone. Can quantified by a combination of either sales, publicity, change of business practices or volume of imitators.
Influence – the act of effecting an artist’s persona, style, behavior, and/or technique. Typically displayed through the art itself and cannot be quantified.
Live Performance Ability – Live vocal clarity, energy, and ability to move the crowd.
Songwriting Ability – Ability to write songs that stand the test of time covering a wide range of topics over a wide range of production.
Record sales are not a factor,awards are not a factor, and how much money an artist has is not a factor.
