Will Smith Appears to Take More Shots at Chris Rock
“If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage,” he raps in the freestyle via AllHipHop. “Jokers dish it out, cry out when it’s time to take it, City full of real ones wasn’t raised to fake it.”

At the 2022 Oscar Awards Smith infiltrated the stage to slap Rock after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. It ended up being one of the most viral moments in social media history. The moment was so shocking that initially, comedian Dave Chappelle did not think it was real.
“Chris got slapped in the face at the Oscars…by Will Smith which was one of the craziest things I have ever seen. If you watch it live on television like I did when it happened, I thought it was fake. I did, and I wasn’t sure,” he said.
“And I thought it was fake. I didn’t know. So I asked. I go, ‘Well, you know.’ He said, ‘What?’ I said ‘Did it hurt?’ He said, ‘Yes, n***a, it hurt.’ And then I knew it was real.
The infamous slap happened more than three years ago. And most people have moved on. But not Chris Rock’s brother Tony. Will also addressed the viral moment on his new album, Base on a True Story, which dropped in 2025.
Tony called it a “sh***y” project and also ripped the album for flopping despite him addressing the slap.
Unfortunately for the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Star, Tony is right. The album was a flop. It sold only 268 copies in the UK and missed the Billboard 200 in the United States.
