The Pittsburgh rapper surprised listeners when co-host Melyssa Ford asked if he believed the Earth was round. Wiz confidently replied, “I would say no.” He further elaborated and said he believes this “flat plane” theory based on his experience as a traveling the world touring musician.
“Because when I travel, the routes that we take and how we do it, it’s not possible to go up and down. You’re just going straight. That’s the only reason I think that.”
Wiz Khalifa continued to express skepticism about our travels to space, stating, “I don’t believe in space exploration at all. I don’t believe that they explore space as much as they say that they do.”
Despite his claims of a flat Earth, fans jokingly pointed out that Wiz used a round Earth on the cover of Kush + Orange Juice 2.
Wiz Khalifa joins a group of public figures that have also co-signed the conspiracy theory, including B.o.B, Fivio Foreign and Kyrie Irving.
B.O.B. is one of the most notable flat Earth conspiracy theorists and once tried to raise money to send satellites into space to prove his theory though his GoFundMe failed to reach its goal.
Esteemed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson even weighed in on B.o.B’s remarks. “Flat Earth is a problem only when people in charge think that way. No law stops you from regressively basking in it,” he tweeted. “Duude — to be clear: Being five centuries regressed in your reasoning doesn’t mean we all can’t still like your music.”
