The New York Knicks are looking to inject energy into the Madison Square Garden crowd in Game 4. After suffering their first loss in nearly two months on Tuesday, they have tapped hometown icons, the Wu-Tang Clan. To get them back on track.
Knicks Tap Wu-Tang to Perform Halftime of Finals Game 4
According to a Wednesday (June 10) report from Bernie Zilio of Page Six, the group, which was formed in Staten Island, will take center court for the halftime show. And fans could not be more excited.
“This is the perfect NYC way to sage the building after Game 3,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Gotta do Wu Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthin’ ta F’ Wit. But switch it to New York Knicks,” a second user chimed in.
“They saw Trump cost the Knicks’ aura and brought in rap goats,” a third user remarked.
Rappers RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna make up the group. However, it is unclear if all of the members will be present for the halftime show.
Rap star Cardi B performed at Halftime of Game 3 at the Garden. With United States President Donald Trump in attendance.
The argument can be made that Game 4 is the most important game of the series for both teams. For the Knicks, losing Game 4 and coming out winless at home after holding a 2-0 lead over San Antonio could be detrimental to their momentum going forward. For the Spurs, losing Game 4 would put them in a 3-1 hole in the NBA Finals. Only one team in NBA history has overcome such a deficit (2016 Cleveland Cavaliers).
