In their next venture, they will re-enter the gaming world. In 1999, the group released Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style, a combat game that was exclusively released for the Sony PlayStation console. And now the group is ready for its second act.
Wu-Tang Set to Release New Video Game
The group recently announced a new game called Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver. It will be an RPG co-op game. And will be based on RZA’s upcoming horror film Angel of Dust.
Ahead of the release of the game, Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah expressed his excitement. Noting that the upcoming game will give fans the opportunity to “step into the darkness.”
“Creating Angel of Dust has been an incredible journey. Bringing the story to life through film was just the beginning,” he said in the statement.
“Now, with the development of the video game, we are immersing fans even deeper into this supernatural thriller universe. It’s about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience. I can’t wait for fans to step into the darkness and discover what lies beneath.”
While the group already has its sights set on its next venture, they have already kicked off their last tour ever. They are amid their 27-date Final Lap Tour along with Run The Jewels.
Before the tour began, famed Wu-Tang member RZA called the final tour a “special moment,” for the group.
“Wu-Tang Clan has shown the world many chambers throughout our career. So this tour is called The Final Chamber,” RZA said in the statement.
“So this is a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers. To run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture.”
He also added, that doing one final tour for their longtime fans, was also a point of emphasis. Noting that attendees of the tour will have the opportunity to hear material that has not been released.
“So most importantly to touch our fans and those who have supported us throughout the years,” RZA added. “On this tour, we’re playing songs we’ve never played before to our audience. So me and our production team has designed a Wu-Tang show unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And to top it off, we’ve got the amazing Run the Jewels on our side.”
