Wyclef Jean has proclaimed that fans of the Fugees may get some unreleased music soon.
What Did Wyclef Jean Say About Unreleased Fugees Music?
Speaking on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Jean claimed there’s music in the vault that Fugees fans would love to hear.
“We have a lot of outtakes and at times we went in and tried a few records and I think fans will enjoy some of the outtakes and some of the freestyles.” he explained. “I think celebrating it like that, we’ve been having conversations, I think it would be pretty amazing.”
Their seminal album, The Score, turned 30 back in February, featuring hits like “Killing Me Softly,” and “Fu-Gee-La.”
How Is Wyclef Jean And Lauryn Hill’s Relationship?
The duo will likely perform some of their best Fugees material at Lauryn Hill’s Diaspora Calling festival in the U.K. beginning August 7th. Hill serves as the headliner with support from Jean, YG Marley, Zion Marley and more to be announced. Tickets for the two day festival are on sale now.
A full reunion of the Fugees can’t happen as Prakazrel “Pras” Michel prepares to serve 14 years in federal prison. Pras received a sentencing on 10 counts, including conspiracy and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government. He is in the process of appealing his conviction per NPR.
