YBN Almighty Jay’s alleged attackers are now in federal custody. On Thursday (March 14), the United States Attorney’s Office revealed that five members of a New York street gang called Jack Boyz were arrested on federal attempted murder and firearms charges on Wednesday (March 13). The charges are unrelated to the assault and subsequent robbery of Jay last Friday.
One of the members of the gang is rapper Zae Numbafive, who can be seen seemingly holding up Jay’s chain in his video for “Traumatized.” Zae, born Nazae Blanche, and three other reputed Jack Boyz members are facing a charge of attempted murder in the aid of racketeering — along with firearm charges — in connection with the shooting of an off-duty NYPD officer.
According to the Southern District of New York’s United States Attorney’s Office,Zae, Patrick Avila (Pat), Jalen Colds (Jay Gunz), Donnell Jenkins (Nellz) and Leon Smalls (Smoove) were shooting at rival gang members on East 137th Street and Brown Place on Oct. 30, 2018. The office says that one police officer was hit in the chest during the shooting.
Zae, Avila, Colds and Nellz have been arrested and are all in federal custody. Smalls is still at large. All of them face up to life in prison for their alleged crimes.
