Ye (Kanye West) Changes His Name
According to a new report from E! Online, The Yeezy founder’s chief financial officer Hussain Lalani referred to West as Ye Ye in multiple court filings sent to the California Secretary of State.
In addition, Ye Ye was listed as the “manager or member” of Ye’s companies Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label, and Ox Paha Inc.
During a 2018 interview with radio host, Big Boy the rap star said he was changing his name because it is the most commonly used phrase in the bible.
“In the Bible, it means ‘you. So, I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye—just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confusion, everything,” he said at the time.
“[It is] more of a reflection of who we are. I wanted something that felt with the energy,” he continued. “Just with the universe was giving me, I wanted to match that energy.”
This latest name change could be a part of a rebrand for Ye. The rap star has admitted that he has “dreams” of reconnecting with his former friend Jay-Z and even went as far as to say that he wants to apologize to him.
Ye did not specify what the apology would be for. Still, many have speculated it could be for his comments directed at Jay.-Z and Beyonce’s kids, Sir and Rumi.
WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCE’S YOUNGER KIDS? THEYRE RE****ED. NO LIKE LITERALLY. AND THIS IS WHY ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IS A BLESSING. HAVING R*****ED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE,” he wrote.
West has since deleted the Tweet but has continued to sporadically
attack both Jay-Z and Beyonce on social media.
Jay-Z and Beyonce have yet to respond to West.
