Uh-oh. Drake may have just reignited his beef with Kendrick Lamar on his new song. On Monday (September 9), Drizzy released a new single titled Dog House, which features Julia Wolf and Yeat.
Yeat Appears to Target Kendrick Lamar on New Drake Song
On the new track, Yeat appears to aim at rap star Kendrick Lamar.
“F**k a money tree, I’m a cash cow. If I ain’t give a f*ck then, I don’t give a f**k now,” he raps on the new track.
Kendrick Lamar’s song Money Trees which features Jay Rock, off his 2012 album Good Kid Maad City, was also mentioned during his and Drake’s 2024 beef.
In Drake’s first diss song Push Ups, he raps:
“Always rappin’ like you ’bout to get the slaves freed. You just actin’ like an activist, it’s make-believe. Don’t even go back to your hood and plant no money trees.
Kendrick and Drake put the rap industry on a standstill during their 2024 beef. The two exchanged a series of songs that got very personal. Kendrick suggested that Drake was a deadbeat dad and accused him of having an estranged daughter. While Drake hinted that Kendrick’s longtime friend Dave Free was the real father of his fiancée, Whitney’s son. Drake also accused Kendrick of being a domestic abuser.
The dust has since settled when it comes to their beef. At least on the TDE side of things. Drake, on the other hand, is suing Universal Music Group, UMG. For defamation over Kendrick’s song Not Like Us. And one could argue that that has earned Drizzy more backlash than him actually losing to Kendrick.
Even more than a year after their viral rap beef, the two superstars continue to be connected. Although Drizzy himself has not directly thrown the latest shot at Kendrick, it will be interesting to see if Lamar reignites their beef because of Yeat’s verse.
