Since he was released from federal custody last October, fans have been clamoring for the next Young Thug project. And they finally got their wish. The YSL head honcho dropped his fourth studio album, UY Scuti, on Friday, September 26.
The album hasn’t been out for 24 hours yet and has already found itself at the center of drama. Mainly because of the album’s 14th track, Whaddup Jesus. A song that features Thugger’s longtime rival, YFN Lucci.
Thug is also featured on Lucci’s album, Already Legend, which was released the same day.
YFN Lucci Reveals Why Him & Young Thug Squashed Their Beef
In a new interview with Sirius XM’s Fly Guy DC, Lucci explained why he and Thugger decided to put the past behind them and move forward.
“First off, we’ve been through a lot,” he said. “Everybody lost people; we lost people. Most important sh*t, we lost our time. We had to be away from our family. So, coming home, it’s like, damn, what the hell can a n***a do to bro? We’re gonna keep doing that sh*t and end up back in jail or one of our homies dead or one of us dead? Or we’re gonna fix this sh*t and make this sh*t look good for the A?”
A lot of things transpired between Young Thug and Lucci. Young Thug allegedly put a hit out on him when he was locked up. He also allegedly sent people to shoot up his mother’s house. Both of which were brought up in Young Thug’s federal trial.
Naturally, Lucci and Thug deciding to settle their differences has led to a lot of backlash from fans on social media.
“Young Thug can do a song with YFN Lucci, but it’s f**k gunna … oh okay,” one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“N**as died, shot niggas, got shot at, and went to prison behind Young Thug and YFN Lucci’s beef. Now them n***as are cool with each other,” another user added.
