The streets are buzzing after another leaked jail call from Young Thug hit the internet. According to audio that surfaced on Sunday (Aug. 31), Thugga was allegedly caught discussing paying for “bots” — fake streams — to push his music and even Gunna’s to the top of the charts.

The call reportedly captures Thug venting to his manager about his 2023 album Business Is Business, which he dropped while locked up. The project moved a solid 88,000 units its first week, but still got edged out by Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (108,000). In the recording, King Slime sounds frustrated about not snatching that No. 1 spot and even jokes that he should’ve been paired with Wallen to “bridge audiences.”

But the conversation allegedly takes a sharp turn when Thug tells his manager to reach out to “that plug” to help inflate the numbers. His manager can be heard replying, “I’m not gonna sleep until we beat him. Whatever happens.” Thug doubles down, saying, “Beat that boy then tell the boy, ‘You can’t beat me, join me.’”

That’s when Gunna’s name enters the chat. Thug reportedly claims he dropped $50,000 on artificial streams to help Gunna’s DS4EVER beat The Weeknd’s Dawn FM back in January 2022. If you remember, Gunna’s album — boosted by the viral smash “Pushin P” with Thug and Future — came out on top with 150,300 equivalent units, while The Weeknd clocked in at 148,000. The razor-thin margin had people debating at the time, but according to this audio, Thug says the victory wasn’t entirely organic.

“You’re not doing numbers like that,” Thug allegedly says in the call. “The number one album you just had right now, I paid for you to have the number one album… I spent 50 extra grand buying streams.”

Thug even suggests The Weeknd’s camp could’ve played the same game, saying CashXO (The Weeknd’s manager) had access to the same connections.

The leaked call also has Thug calling out Gunna for allegedly charging up-and-coming rappers thousands for features — something Thug says he never did, despite always looking out for him.

Between Business Is Business not hitting No. 1, accusations of bot streams, and ongoing YSL RICO drama, these leaks are only making an already messy situation messier. What was supposed to be Thug’s “triumphant return from behind bars” era now has fans questioning what’s real and what’s manufactured.
