There had been speculation that there was friction between Atlanta rap stars Young Thug and Gunna. And the YSL boss seemed to confirm that on a new song.

Young Thug Takes Apparent Shot at Gunna
Young Thug linked up with fellow Atlanta rapper Future on a new song titled Money on Money which dropped on Friday, April 25. On the new track, Gunna appears to be the subject of Young Thug’s attack when he speaks about friends who switched sides on him.
“These f**k n****s tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends,” he raps on the song’s hook.
He later raps: Brother, you a rat (My brother).”
As well as: “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.”
‘The reported friction between the rap stars stems from the Young Stoner Life (YSL) RICO trial.
Gunna was a part of the initial indictment when the feds swept up several YSL affiliates in July 2022. But he only spent about six months behind bars. He entered an Alford plea. Under such agreement Gunna admitted guilt while also maintaining his innocence, allowing him to be released. Thug on the other hand spent about two and a half years behind bars before ultimately being released on a 15-year probation sentence.
Star’s Attorney Dispels Snitching Claims
However, many people have confused Gunna’s Alford plea with him cooperating with authorities for a lesser charge. But his attorney Steve Sadow shut down those allegations in January 2025.
“I was Gunna’s attorney but I am NOT speaking on his behalf. This long post is solely to set out the truth. Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case,” Sadow said.
He also added that he spent 8 months in jail and was released in Dec. 2022 after entering an Alford plea. Gunna’s plea could not and was not used at Thug’s trial and he was never even named as a witness. He received a 5-year suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.”
