Cardi B and Young Thug were lined up to go head-to-head on the charts this week… but Thugger instead chose peace.
The Atlanta rapper hopped on late-night socials Wednesday (Sept. 17) straight from the studio with Southside to announce that his album UY SCUTI won’t be dropping on Sept. 19 anymore. Instead, he’s sliding it back one week to Sept. 26.
And it’s not because the music ain’t ready—he’s just making room for the Bronx bombshell. Cardi ’s sophomore project Am I The Drama is locked in for this Friday, and Thug said he’s stepping aside to let her shine.
“Yall know I wasn’t dropping Friday. It’s a ladies day. Do yo s—t @iamcardib,” he wrote on X, officially co-signing the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper’s long-awaited return.
Cardi showed love right back, telling Thug to keep the same energy when he does drop: “And you better step next week …you got this, You know this !!”
Whew! We love to see the solidarity. Hip-hop release dates usually mean WAR on the charts, but instead of beef, Slime is giving Bardi her flowers.
Between Thug’s leaked jail phone calls and Cardi’s rollercoaster summer full of relationship headlines, both stars have been trending for all the wrong reasons lately. But this move shows growth, and fans are hype to finally hear where both heavyweights are at in their respective journeys.
