Young Thug has been at the center of controversy over the past several days. Last week, audio leaked of him. Appearing to implicate YSL affiliate PeeWee Roscoe as one of the people behind Lil Wayne’s tour bus shooting. Which occurred in Atlanta in 2015.
In addition, a firestorm of his recorded jail phone calls leaked. And he is heard bashing several of his rap cohorts, including Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, and Lil Durk.
Young Thug Sends Strong Message Amid Backlash
In light of these new developments, the Slime Language creator has been subjected to heavy backlash. From several members of the hip-hop community. However, Young Thug took to social media on Wednesday (September 3) to warn his critics that it will only make things worse.
“Bashing me only going to f**k that rap community up more, I’m the blue to this fake ass game,” the rap star wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
However, fans on social media had a different perspective on things.
“So we agree – you made rap fake and weird,” one fan wrote in the comments section of Young Thug’s post.
“You bashed yourself when you were on those prison calls like a call centre consultant on OT running ya mouth,” another user added.
“You killed Atlanta trying to play Godfather. Should’ve just transitioned twin,” a third person said.
One of the people that Young Thug took aim at in the leaked prison calls was former YSL artist Gunna.
In a phone call with 21 Savage, Young Thug says he believes that it was Gunna’s plea deal that made the case a RICO case.
“This is what he did. He gave the jurors the agreement that it’s a gang,” Young Thug says in the leaked phone call. “He said YSL is a gang and that he knows people in this trial who committed crimes in furtherance of the gang. That’s a RICO. So if a n***a gets found on a RICO, that means you really got a n***a life took n***a”
