There had been reported friction between Gunna and Young Thug. After Gunna entered a plea deal in the YSL RICO trial. That friction was confirmed after a series of Young Thug’s recorded prison phone calls leaked. And in one of the leaks, he blames Gunna for being the reason that the YSL investigation was made into a RICO.
Young Thug Says Gunna’s Plea Deal Was “Harmful” to His Case
In a recent interview with Big Bank, Young Thug provides more details about the current state of his relationship with Gunna. He also talks about why Gunna’s plea deal was “harmful” to him despite not being used in the case.
“Was Gunna takin’ that plea harmful to me? Yes, 100%,” Thug said to Big Bank. “First we tellin’ the jurors ‘YSL ain’t a gang.’ Now [after the plea deals] we goin’ back to the jurors sayin’, ‘Well, some people might say it’s a gang — but we ain’t a part of that part of it. We are part of the record label.”
Young Thug also goes on to talk about how he and Gunna are not currently on speaking terms. And how they have not spoken since he entered the Alford Plea in the YSL trial. However, despite giving each other the cold shoulder over the past few years, Thugger still feels like Gunna owes him an explanation. Even if he doesn’t agree with it.
“Even if I don’t want to hear it, you’re still supposed to be a real nigga and say it,” he added. “How can you just do what you did to me and then just go live your life? Like, ain’t nothing happened?” Despite his disdain, Thug expressed, “I love you, bruh… I poured so much into him, I can’t even hate him. In jail, I thought I hated him… But I don’t wish any ill will on him — no ill feelings at all.”
He also goes onto say that he feels “betrayed” by Gunna. And how he is “f****d up,” over not having Gunna in his life anymore.
