Young Thug’s Probation Will Not Be Revoked After Judge’s Ruling

On Thursday, an Atlanta court dismissed a motion from the district attorney’s office claiming Young Thug was in violation of his probation requirements.

DA Fani Willis accused the rapper of “escalating threats and witness intimidation” in a since-deleted social media post about Fulton County Investigator Marissa Viverito, who is currently in the process of testifying in a sprawling gang murder preliminary hearing linked to Lil Baby. 

Alongside a photo of Viverto, he wrote: “Biggest liar in the DA office.” 

Prosecutors sought to revoke his probation, writing that his “continued presence in the community under probationary supervision presents a clear and present danger to public safety and undermines the rule of law.” 

Thug put out a statement on social media clarifying that he meant no harm with the post. “I don’t make treats to people I’m a good person, I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love,” he wrote.

In a judgement on Thursday, Judge Whitaker said his post wasn’t a good idea, but it’s not bad enough to send him back behind bars. 

“Having reviewed the terms and conditions of Defendant’s probation imposed by this Court, the Court declines to revoke Defendant’s probation based on the violation asserted,” Whitaker wrote. 

She did add, though, that “it may be prudent for Defendant to exercise restraint regarding certain topics.”

To celebrate, Young Thug popped out at the Lakers-Warriors game last night, accompanied by none other than Mariah The Scientist. They appeared to be in good spirits throughout the night, which is to be expected considering his latest legal win.
