Hip-hop mogul and media executive 50 Cent is doubling down on his vision for Shreveport, Louisiana, with a major new investment through G-Unit Film and Television.
On Monday (Jan. 12), 50 Cent and Louisiana Economic Development announced plans for a $124 million redevelopment project aimed at revitalizing multiple entertainment venues in Shreveport. The ambitious plan includes renovating the former Stageworks facility for live events and production use, a significant expansion of the Millennium Studios campus—now known as G-Unit Studios—and the construction of a new dome-style immersive entertainment venue paired with a green space park.
“This project is the realization of the long-term commitment I have made to the City of Shreveport and the State of Louisiana,” 50 Cent said in a statement. He emphasized that the investment will create jobs, attract new productions, and help position Northwest Louisiana as a national hub for film, music, and live entertainment. “All Roads Lead to Shreveport,” he added.
In support of the redevelopment, the state is expected to provide up to $50 million in performance-based funding to assist with infrastructure upgrades and modernization at the three sites. 50 also celebrated the news on Instagram, echoing his long-standing message to the city: “I told you all roads lead to Shreveport, now let’s work!”
The announcement builds on 50 Cent’s growing footprint in the region. In December 2023, he signed a 30-year lease with the city for Millennium Studios, and in the summer of 2024, he brought major attention to Shreveport by hosting the Humor & Harmony Weekend, featuring multiple high-profile events. With this latest investment, 50 Cent is making it clear that Shreveport is central to his long-term entertainment empire.
