Rap star Rakim Mayers, better known as hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky found himself in hot water when he was arrested in August 2022. The A$AP Mob member was charged with shooting his former friend and bandmate Terel Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli. The dispute stemmed from Ephron believing that Mayers failed to pay for a friend’s funeral.

On February 18th, after less than two days of deliberation by the jury, Rocky was found not guilty of the charges. And got to go home a free man.
50 Cent Reacts to A$AP Rocky Verdict
This case was one that was followed closely by the hip-hop community. Especially because A$AP Rocky is in a relationship with Rihanna, whom he also shares two children with. Following the verdict, fellow rap star 50 Cent shared his excitement about the not-guilty verdict. He also took the time to rip Ephron, who he has nicknamed “A$AP Telli,” in the process.
“Not Guilty I told [people] I would bet 500,000 K he gonna beat it when ASAP Tellie started getting tired of telling 5 days straight! BOOM! Now stay sucker free!” the G-Unit founder wrote in a social media post on February 18.
But despite his excitement over the verdict, 50 Cent remained confident that Rocky would not serve any prison time throughout the trial. In fact, he was so confident, that he was willing to be half a million dollars that the “Fashion Killa,” artist would be found innocent.
“I got ASAP beaten this case,” 50 said in a caption in an Instagram post earlier this month. “I’ll bet 500,000 on it, that boy ASAP Tellie was just trying to get some money. Fool said I was scared for my life so I sent back to the scene and picked up the shells. The officer told him hey if you want to get some money go to the hospital. Who want to bet.”
