Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team is pushing back against testimony from Kid Cudi about a 2012 car bombing, calling it speculative and unfairly prejudicial.

The artist’s legal team argued Cudi’s recollection of the incident is merely his opinion. They argue there’s no solid proof linking Diddy to the incident and say the claims shouldn’t be allowed in court.
They also pointed to reports that DNA found on the car actually belonged to a woman — not Diddy. And they noted that Cudi himself has previously admitted he had “no personal knowledge that anybody affiliated with Mr. Combs was on or around his property at the time” his car was damaged.
Photos Of Kid Cudi’s Blown Up Car Made Public After Diddy Trial Testimony
Cudi — whose real name is Scott Mescudi — testified last Thursday (May 22) that back in 2012, he got a phone call from his dog-sitter saying his car was on fire.
It turned out his Porsche had been blown up — allegedly with a Molotov cocktail — during what he described as a tense period involving Diddy.
Photos of the charred car surfaced shortly after Cudi’s testimony. Police records confirmed that an incendiary device caused the fire. Though Cudi publicly mentioned the incident for the first time in 2023, he hadn’t previously named anyone. But in court, he linked the bombing to a short-lived relationship he had with singer Cassie Ventura — who was also involved with Combs around the same time.
Cudi went on to describe another disturbing episode. After Diddy allegedly learned about the relationship, Cudi received a strange phone call. Someone from Diddy’s team told him that Combs had entered his home.
By the time Cudi got there, Diddy was gone — but the scene was unsettling. His family’s Christmas presents had been ripped open, and his dog was locked in the bathroom. Even worse, he says, the dog came out of it both physically injured and emotionally traumatized.
