On Saturday (May 24) morning, Ye took to X to criticize former collaborator Kid Cudi for taking the stand against the Bad Boy Records founder.
“I wish Cudi hadn’t testified against Puff,” Ye wrote. “We need not to be locked in white systems.” He followed up with: “Praying for Puff and his family. Praying for Puff Daddy and the Family.”
The comments come just days after Cudi—real name Scott Mescudi—took the stand on Thursday (May 22), delivering testimony that painted a dark picture of his past with Diddy. According to Cudi, Diddy once broke into his L.A. home after learning about his relationship with Cassie. He also claimed that the Bad Boy founder later had his Porsche firebombed with a Molotov cocktail.
Despite the serious allegations against Diddy, Ye has remained publicly supportive. In his highly controversial interview with DJ Akademiks, the Donda artist doubled down on his support for Diddy, even drawing parallels between the two.
At the start of the interview, Ye greeted Akademiks while wearing a shirt from Diddy’s “Sean John” clothing line. Moments later, he referred to Diddy as his “twin.”
“Puff is more like my twin,” he added. I asked Puff back in the day like, ‘How you just made it through all of the Suge Knight shit [and everything else]?’ He was like, ‘I’m the craziest one, n***a!’ We’re family, we can get into it.”
