It has been a turbulent first year out of prison for rap star Young Thug. From snitching allegations to cheating scandals, Thug has seen it all in 2025. But the one positive that Thugger can draw from the past 12 months? He was able to end his beef with longtime rival YFN Lucci.
YSL Woody Blast Young Thug For Forgiving Lucci & Not Gunna
While a lot of people were happy to see the two artists put their differences aside, not everyone feels that way. Most recently, YSL Woody called out Thugger for rekindling his relationship with Lucci. Especially because he has not shown that same type of leniency towards Gunna.
“You wanna come out here and act like you’re forgiving Lucci and work with Lucci and, and do all this s**t with Lucci… you could have done that with Gunna,” Woody said during an appearance on Perspektives with Big Bank (via No Jumper).
“You willing to forgive somebody that was trying to hurt you and that you were trying to hurt, but you not trying to forgive somebody that didn’t know any better, that took a plea. Gunna don’t go to jail. Gunna not with all this sh*t.”
Thug & Gunna’s Beef Explained
To bring things up to speed, Thug’s issues with Gunna stem from the YSL trial. Gunna was swept up in the initial indictment but was released after he entered an Alfred Plea. This is a guilty plea entered by a defendant who maintains their innocence, but admits there is enough evidence for a jury to likely convict them. But even though Gunna’s plea was never used in the trial, Thugger has still maintained that he snitched.
As for why he decided to end his beef with Lucci? Thug believes it was time for them to move forward because they both had already lost so much.
“We came a long way from the trenches,” Thug said (via XXL). “We got rid of our problems. I hope y’all find a way to get rid of the problems y’all have in y’all life…I did that for Atlanta, for the community, for the city. We’re tired of losing people for nothing. Even if it is something, it’s just not worth losing people.”
