Fans have been anxiously anticipating the release of Drake’s ninth studio album, Iceman.
The album was originally slated to be released before the end of 2025. But with there being less than two weeks remaining in the year, it doesn’t seem like the project will meet its initial deadline.
Drake Gives Fans An Update on Iceman Album
However, Drake still made time to bless his fans, who are growing impatient. During a recent stream with YouTuber BennDaDonn, Drake gave fans an update on when they can expect the new project.
“I know what you’re waiting on, trust me, we cheffin,” he said in reference to the forthcoming project.

The comments section proved that even though the buildup to the album has been extended, the anticipation hasn’t wavered.
“This album is bout to be GENERATIONAL,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Pencil in 500k first week at MINIMUM,” a second user added.
“This Iceman record better be cohesive, we’re waiting on Drizzy,” a third user chimed in.
Iceman will be Drake’s first solo project since his 2024 rap feud with Kendrick Lamar. The beef has certainly had a longstanding impact on the industry as a whole. Close friends have turned into sworn enemies, and lawsuits have impacted the way that streaming numbers are viewed. The whole landscape has changed. And not necessarily for the better. During a recent stream, rap star Young Thug said he believes that hip-hop is in a “weird place” because of Kendrick and Drizzy’s beef.
“I feel like I always wanted to do this type of music, and then I feel like rap is in a weird space right now,” he explained, as heard by @big_business_ on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Because it just seems like everybody’s beefing. … Two of the biggest artists in the world clash, and a lot of f*cking ripple effect came out after that. Weird. I feel like it’s time. I feel like we gotta take it to the next level. We gotta level up. Like, AI. It’s just so much. Everything in the world is leveling up except hip-hop.”
