Nicki Minaj has narrowly avoided losing her $20 million Hidden Hills, California mansion after paying off a long-standing $503,000 lawsuit judgment just in time.
On Thursday (Jan. 22), a final court hearing was held to determine whether the luxury property would be sold to satisfy the judgment awarded to Thomas Weidenmüller, who sued Minaj in 2022. The lawsuit stemmed from an alleged 2019 incident in Germany, where Weidenmüller claimed he was assaulted by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, after allowing a fan onstage during a concert.
Minaj failed to respond to the lawsuit, resulting in a default judgment in 2024 that ordered her to pay Weidenmüller $503,000. For months, the case lingered as the court weighed authorizing the forced sale of her Hidden Hills home—until Minaj finally settled the debt at the eleventh hour.
Outside the courtroom, Weidenmüller’s attorney, Paul Saso, confirmed the matter was resolved. “Today, we informed the court that Nicki Minaj has satisfied the judgment,” Saso said. “Therefore, there is no need to proceed further with our order authorizing the sale of her house.”
With the payment now complete, the forced sale has been halted, bringing a dramatic close to a legal battle that had threatened one of hip-hop’s most high-profile homes.
