In October 2025, rap star Cam’ron filed a lawsuit against J. Cole, claiming breach of contract regarding his feature on the song “Ready ’24”. Cam’ron alleges that in exchange for his 2022 verse, Cole promised to appear on his podcast, “It Is What It Is,” or collaborate on a future song, which he says never occurred. He is seeking $500,000 for the alleged breach of the unfulfilled agreement.
Cam’ron Breaks Silence About J.Cole Lawsuit
During a recent episode of his podcast, Talk With Flee, Cam’ron broke his silence about the lawsuit.
“Being a man is keeping your word. And I get that everybody is busy and everybody has things to do. But if I give you my word four or five times, I gotta do it,” Cam said. “So, on his first project, I did an intro for him. I did the record. I told him I might need a verse [from him] when I get a project done. He said, cool. He had another project I did a verse in 20 minutes. I knocked that s**t out of the park and went off about my business. I need a verse. I’m exaggerating, but he was like ‘the chakra ain’t right, right now, and you know the moon gotta align with the stars, and when I write I gotta put my all into it.”

Cam eventually got tired of waiting for the verse. But he knows that Cole is an avid sports fan. So he suggested that he appear on his podcast, “It is What it Is” instead. Cole agreed to appear on the show in June 2024; However, because he had just pushed the album back, he said he did not want to do any interviews and pushed his appearance back to October.
When Cam called him back in October, it was when all of the drama between Cole, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar was going down, and he didn’t want to talk about it. Cam assured Cole that it wouldn’t be talked about during the interview. But Cole still felt the timing wasn’t right. So they rescheduled the Interview for February of the following year.
In February 2025 again, Cole didn’t come through. And this past October, Cam took legal action against the Carolina native.
It sounds like Cam never wanted to go the legal route, but Cole forced his hand. Cole has yet to issue a response to the lawsuit.
