When Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club announced its new partnership with Netflix, it was a move that would take the famed morning program to the next level.
Jess Hilarious Gets Honest About Breakfast Club, Netflix Deal
As part of the new deal, full-length episodes are exclusively available on Netflix, as opposed to YouTube, as they were under the previous arrangement. And with the morning program that has a knack for viral interviews, the content being available on an even bigger platform will be beneficial for both parties. But during a recent livestream, Breakfast Club co-host Jess Hilarious says that the move to Netflix has alienated their previous fanbase.
“I ain’t gonna lie, it was tense. Since the Breakfast Club has been on Netflix, engagement, our people, all of the fans that [..] they built up over time on YouTube, oh my god, they feel neglected,” she said during the live stream via 2Coo2lBlog. “Because Netflix was like, ” Nope, we want all of it. Ya’ll can’t have any other social media presence, none. So now we have to find other content that can go on our other platforms. But that’s okay because Jess hilarious got that in the bag, shawty.”

Many fans in the comments section of the post echoed the same sentiment.
“All those podcasts that went to Netflix feel like they sort of disappeared now. I’m sorry, but when I turn on Netflix, I’m not trying to sit and watch people sit around and talk,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“That’s why you don’t jump at everything with big money because those come with fixed arrangements. Netflix wants you to subscribe to continue to watch their content … with access to celebrities,” another user added.
