During a recent appearance on The Danza Project, rapper-turned-podcaster Cam’ron opened up about the state of his relationship with former Roc-A-Fella Records executive Dame Dash.
Cam’ron Gets Honest About His Relationship With Dame
When asked about their relationship, Cam’ron said that it could “probably” be mended. However, he did note that he took issue with Dame bringing their issues to the internet.
“Dame done so much for me. He helped me get on Roc-A-Fella Records… and I’m forever grateful for that,” Cam’ron said. “My problem is… regardless of what happens, I never take our problems to the internet.”
He also noted that in many of their back-and-forths, Dame was the antagonist. And appeared to reignite the beef every time things had seemingly cooled down.
“It kept going on… and I’m like, why are you throwing me in the spot?” he added.
Cam and Dame clashed in 2025. After 50 Cent revealed that he had acquired the rights to Dash’s 2002 film, Paid in Full, and planned to turn the film into a television series. Fif, also named Cam, who starred in the original 2002 production, is the executive producer of the upcoming film. This led to a war of words between Cam and Dame.
But Cam’ron says that he heard from people who are close to Dame that he wanted to keep the feud going, so that his name stayed in the algorithm. And at that point, he knew that their beef was at the point of no return.
“But then he was telling n***as that he lit off the algorithm. He likes, ‘Nah, n***a I’m lit right now.’ And I’m like, ‘Lit beefing with me?’ Like that’s how you want to be lit? And when I saw that, I was like, ain’t no turning back because the internet already got him on a high,” Cam’ron added.
At the time of writing, Dame Dash has not responded to Cam’ron’s comments.
