The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced its Class of 2026, spotlighting a diverse group of legendary artists across multiple genres.
Leading this year’s Performer category are iconic acts such as Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, and Joy Division/New Order. They are joined by Britpop favorites Oasis, hip-hop legends Wu-Tang Clan, and R&B greats Sade and the late Luther Vandross.
In the Early Influence category, the Hall honors trailblazers whose impact shaped modern music, including the late Celia Cruz, Gram Parsons, Fela Kuti, along with hip-hop pioneers Queen Latifah and MC Lyte.
The Musical Excellence Award will recognize behind-the-scenes legends, including renowned producer Rick Rubin, alongside Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and songwriter Linda Creed. Meanwhile, the prestigious Ahmet Ertegun Award will be presented posthumously to television pioneer Ed Sullivan.
Notably, Collins becomes a two-time inductee, having previously entered the Hall as a member of Genesis in 2010, while Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan earned induction in their first year on the ballot.
Several high-profile nominees were left out of this year’s class, including Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Shakira, P!nk, and New Edition.
“Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honor,” Chairman John Sykes said in a statement, adding that this year’s ceremony promises to be “an unforgettable night.”
The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The event will air on ABC in December and will also be available for streaming on Disney+.
